Biography
Amy Solana has been with PNNL since 2002. She has completed several energy and water audits for federal sites over the years, and continues to do so, delivering long-range planning documents and retrofit suggestions to help them conserve and save money. Facility Energy Decision System (FEDS) building and site energy modeling is included in most of these assessments. She has also put together project funding applications based on these results, as well as analyzed other potential energy-saving opportunities, including cost-effective metering.
Amy's involvement with green buildings includes metrics for measuring sustainable facilities, writing "green" construction specifications, and some additional research and writing activities. Activities have involved specific technology analysis as well as whole-building assessments.
Amy also collects energy efficiency project data to help maintain a database of federal projects for the Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP), and analyzes this data to determine trends or patterns for future energy projects. In addition, she collects project and energy data for the Industrial Technology Program, assisting with new technology tracking.
