Biography

Ruth Taylor began her career at PNNL in 1984. Over the years she has spent several years away from the Lab operating her own residential architectural design firm (1989-1999) and directing a local non-profit (2004-2006).

From 1999-2004, Ms. Taylor spent her time at the Lab managing the outreach and deployment activities for DOE's Building Energy Codes Program (BECP). These efforts included the development and implementation of an end-user focused website and resource center, various technical and educational promotional materials, multi-state training programs, national stakeholder conferences, energy codes technical support (hotline and website), and an annual national workshop.

Previously, Ms. Taylor's activities included the evaluation of economic and environmental impacts of various building energy standards, the contribution to sections of a major Environment Impact Statement, as well as DOE-2 building energy simulations in support of various building energy conservation and standards programs.
