Biography

Katie Cort has been at PNNL since 1998. Prior to joining PNNL, she worked for Seattle Public Utilities and also for the State of Washington. She also spent a year as a research associate with the Tropical Science Center of Costa Rica, working on issues related to watershed management.

Ms. Cort supports a variety of projects related to the assessment of energy-efficiency programs, technologies, and research. She provides technical support for the Department of Energy's Office of Building Technology, State and Community Programs (BTS) Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) Metrics effort, which estimates building energy benefits and corresponding pollution emissions reductions on an annual basis. She also works in the Building Energy Codes program, analyzing the economic impact of code adoption on States.

Katie works on regional socio-economic impact reviews of nuclear plants as part of the Nuclear Regulatory Agency's license renewal process and has also recently worked on a study evaluating the environmental and economic impacts of various site restoration plans for Energy Northwest. She also has worked on projects in the intelligence arena regarding economic impacts of energy management and infrastructure.
