Biography
Kelly Gordon joined PNNL in 2000 and works in PNNL's Portland office. On behalf of U.S. DOE, she manages Lighting for Tomorrow, a competition that recognizes excellence in design of energy-efficient residential lighting fixtures. The competition promotes both fluorescent and LED-based lighting. Kelly also supports U.S. DOE's Solid-State Lighting (SSL) Commercialization Support program. Her specific responsibilities include development of technical information on LEDs for general lighting applications, and support for new ENERGY STAR criteria for SSL products.
Before joining the Lab, Kelly worked for the International Institute for Energy Conservation (IIEC), a nonprofit organization in Washington, D.C., from 1996 to 2000. Key projects included market studies in Indonesia and the Philippines, and development and implementation of a six-country lighting efficiency program with the World Bank. Earlier, she worked for RPM Systems Inc. (now Retec), a consultancy in New Haven, Connecticut, where she supported energy conservation studies in public and private facilities.
Kelly's skills include project management, writing, market research, and policy analysis. Her professional focus is on lighting energy efficiency and the development of markets for high-efficiency lighting products and technologies. Kelly earned the Lighting Certified (LC) designation from the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions (NCQLP) in 2005.
