Biography
Jennifer States started her work with PNNL in September of 2007. Prior to joining PNNL, she worked in the renewable energy industry as the managing director for the US headquarters of an international renewable energy company. She was responsible for all aspects of project development and business management including utility contract negotiations, wind analysis, turbine selection, site acquisition, community relations, proposal writing, project engineering, legal, regulatory and finance. In Kansas, Jennifer served as member of the Governor's Wind and Prairie Task Force and a member of Senator Pat Roberts' Science and Technology Committee on Energy. She previously served on the Nebraska Wind Energy Task Force and the Nebraska Utility Restructuring Review Group. Jennifer has represented the renewable energy industry as an invited speaker for dozens of forums throughout the Midwest. Jennifer graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University, with a degree in political science, minor in biology and a focus on environmental studies. She was the recipient of the Morris K. Udall Scholarship for excellence in environmental leadership.
